Find out the NBA’s most scoring players
In the NBA, there’s nothing more thrilling than seeing a player force a dunk in front of a defense or dribble the ball to their knees.
Just recently, on February 8th, NBA basketball player LeBron James of the LA Lakers finally became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in the regular season.
He finally surpassed the 38,387 points of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, famous for his hook shot that was unbroken for 39 years.
(For reference, Michael Jordan has 32292 points)
I became curious.
Who has scored the most points in a single game in NBA history?
And what about the NBA career scoring rankings?
Let’s take a look right now.
NBA All-Time Highest Points in a Game
Here are the NBA’s all-time scoring records in a single game.
Who were the players ranked first, Wilton Chamberlain , and second, Kobe Bryant ?
I scored 100 points in one game alone
Have you ever heard of this player?
If Michael Jordan is the ‘Emperor of Basketball’, then Wilt Chamberlain seems to be the ‘God of Basketball’ .
On March 3, 1962, Chamberlain, then a member of the Philadelphia Warriors, set a crazy record of ‘100 points in a game’ in a regular season game against the New York Knicks.
At this time, Philadelphia defeated the New York Knicks 169 to 147.
That means he scored over 60% of the 169 points by himself!
He not only scored a goal, but also had 25 rebounds and 2 assists .
And at the time, there was no 3-point shooting system in the NBA, but if there had been 3-point shooting, he would have easily scored over 100 points.
Additionally, on this day, Chamberlain shot 32 free throws, making 28 of them and four of them.
That means the free throw success rate on this day was 87.5% .(He’s crazy brother.)
Chamberlain’s rival, Bill Russell, is said to have said, “The only way to stop Chamberlain is to tie him up in the locker room or shoot him.”
But he was just a human being.
After setting such a crazy record, he returned to dust in the fall of 1999 at the age of 63 due to a heart attack.
But this record of 100 points in one game seems like it will never die out.
Kobe’s 81 points followed Chamberlain’s lead.
Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game, now a star that will never be seen again, is as famous as Chamberlain’s 100-point game.
On January 22, 2006, he scored 81 points in a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors.
At the time, the Raptors were leading by 14 points at halftime.
But in the second half, Kobe Bryant scored 27 points in the third quarter and the Raptors led 42-22.
Then, he scored 28 points in the 4th quarter, setting a crazy record of 81 points on his own in the game and leading the team to victory.
Time passed and it was January 27, 2020, Korean time.
It was the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, so I was waiting to watch an NBA game at dawn.
But the game was postponed when news of Kobe’s death suddenly appeared on the news.
It was a truly huge shock at the time, and I still remember it vividly.
Kobe Bryant, who was once my idol when I was playing basketball…
I would like to take this opportunity to once again pray for the repose of his soul.
All-time NBA individual scoring rankings
So what about the NBA career scoring rankings, which LeBron recently held?
As you can see, LeBron has broken Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record and is now in first place.

Some may wonder, ‘ Has LeBron surpassed Jordan ?’
Even though LeBron James became the all-time leading scorer, I think Michael Jordan was a better basketball player.
Michael Jordan’s 30.1 points per game over 15 seasons surpasses LeBron James’ 20-season average of 27.2 points.
However, it is difficult to make a simple comparison based on points per game alone, as LeBron James has an advantage in passing and rebounding over Michael Jordan.
LeBron James entered the NBA at the age of 18 and is still an active player.
On the other hand, Michael Jordan debuted at the age of 21, retired from the NBA for two years at the ages of 30 and 31 to play baseball due to his father’s injury.
After that, he returned to the NBA and showed his skills as a top player.
And Michael Jordan retired at age 35.
I think Jordan might have set even more records if missed seasons were included.
Whatever one may say, there is no doubt that both players are great.
All-time NBA 3-point shooting rankings
A three-point shot that can catch up to a big score gap and provide excitement for a thrilling comeback victory.
The current NBA focuses on scoring efficient shots like the 3-point shot.
In terms of slam dunks, there are more players like Jeong Dae-man than players like Chae Chi-soo.
So what are the current career 3-point shooting rankings ?
The current number one player is Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry.
On December 15, 2021 , Ray Allen ceded the three-pointer record to Stephen Curry.
Curry’s position is point guard.
Just like comparing LeBron to Jordan, it’s actually difficult to compare him to Michael Jordan, who was a shooting guard, because their positions are different.
But there is a reason why many basketball fans around the world compare basketball emperors Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry.
If Michael Jordan became the emperor of basketball with his incredible physical strength, athleticism, and genius basketball skills, including crazy jumping ability, air walk, exhilarating dunks, fadeaway shots, double clutches, and amazing defensive skills,
Stephen Curry is a superstar who has proven his star quality and led his team to victory with his 3-point shooting ability, amazing passing ability, clever dribbling, and driving in regardless of the number of defenders, from any position and any position .
As the king of the three-point shot, Stephen Curry holds and continues to break almost every record related to the three-point shot in the NBA, including most three-point shots in NBA career, most three-point shots in a season, most three-point shots in the NBA Finals, and most consecutive games with three-point shots.
What makes Curry different from Michael Jordan is that he is a genius basketball player who inherited his genius from his father who was an NBA basketball player, but he is also a hard-working genius who achieved this through an incredible amount of practice .
Who would have thought that the record made in 1300 games would be broken in just 789 games?
Will there ever be a better 3-point shooter than this?
NBA career rebound rankings
As I was looking at the scoring rankings, I also became curious about the rebound rankings.
This is the most impressive line I heard while watching the cartoon Slam Dunk.
What will be the career rebound rankings?
It’s Wilt Chamberlain. (Wilt Chamberlain)
Brother… what kind of basketball did you play?
I wonder what kind of monster players will emerge from the NBA in the future and who will break what records.
Basketball is fun because these ridiculous monsters keep popping up.
