Liverpool FC of the English Premier League (EPL), which had no news in the transfer market this summer, has finally succeeded in making its first signing with just a little bit left until the transfer deadline.
The recruited player is Federico Chiesa (27), who is the star player of the Italian national soccer team and the starting winger for Juventus FC, a team representing Serie A.
Chiesa, who grew up training for a long time in the youth team of traditional Serie A powerhouse ACF Fiorentina during his childhood, made his first appearance in the Fiorentina first team in the 2016-17 season and showed decent performances before being established as a regular player from the 2017-18 season onwards.
With each passing season, Chiesa’s potential as a crack player began to explode, and countless big clubs such as Manchester United, Deportivo, and Inter Milan showed interest, but in the end, a loan move to Juventus was announced in the summer of 2020 and he succeeded in making a call-up to the national team.
After his transfer, Chiesa’s performances at Juventus and his significant contribution to Italy’s 2020 Euro victory earned him the title of Europe’s top talent, and he himself began to build his career by winning trophies in earnest.

However, Federico Chiesa suffered a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury in the 2021-22 season match against AS Roma, which was a major crisis for ‘Crack’ Chiesa, who relied on speed and technique as his main weapons.
After returning to the team for the 2022-23 season, 10 months later, Chiesa was showing decent form as if he had never been injured, but soon after, he suffered another knee injury in the Europa League finals, and since then, he has been showing a decline in his performance, frequently showing a weaker form, and a tendency to get injured.
With the aforementioned glassy temperament, the inability to coexist tactically with Allegri, who was then the Juventus manager, and the point deduction due to the club’s illegal acquisition of book profits, Chiesa’s prospects at Juventus became very bleak as his skills and affection for the team declined.
In the end, it was revealed that Chiesa was left out of the new manager Thiago Motta’s plans for the 2024-25 season and was put on the sale list, and various offers began to come in for Chiesa, who also did not want to renew his contract.
However, due to the high salary, there were not many teams that were willing to hastily participate in recruiting him, but Liverpool, which had not taken any action in this transfer market, succeeded in contacting Chiesa on the 27th (Korean time) and succeeded in persuading Chiesa, who was leaning towards Barcelona.
According to the SNS of Fabrizio Romano, a journalist who reports on European football transfers, Chiesa signed a four-year contract with Liverpool for a transfer fee of 13 million euros (approximately 44.9 billion won).
