Hwang In-beom (28), a starting central midfielder for Crvena Zvezda, a prestigious club in the Serbian Superliga, the Serbian first division professional soccer league, and a regular midfielder for the Korean national soccer team, has joined Feyenoord, a Dutch professional soccer team.
According to the Feyenoord club website on the 3rd (Korean time), Hwang In-beom expressed his feelings about the transfer in a welcome interview, saying, “I am very happy to be transferring to Feyenoord.” He also said that his fellow Zvezda player Uroš Spajic (Serbia), who had played for Feyenoord on loan for one season in 2020-21, told him, “The decision to go to Feyenoord was wise.”
Hwang In-beom’s new nest Feyenoord is one of the clubs participating in the Dutch first division professional football league. The Eredivisie is one of the top football leagues, ranking 6th in the UEFA rankings, following the Premier League (England), Serie A (Italy), La Liga (Spain), Bundesliga (Germany), and Ligue 1 (France).

In the interview that followed, Hwang In-beom expressed his expectations and ambitions, saying, “Feyenoord is the biggest club I’ve ever played for, and it’s a prestigious club even in Europe, so I want to stay here for a long time.” and “I want to show a good performance to Feyenoord’s supporters.”
Hwang In-beom, who debuted for Daejeon Citizen in the K League at the age of 18 and set the record for the youngest goal scorer, had a journeyman career, playing for Vancouver Whitecaps FC in MLS (USA), FC Rubin Kazan in Russia, Olympiacos FC in Greece, and Crvena Zvezda in Serbia before finally transferring to Feyenoord.
Although the specific terms have not been confirmed, Hwang In-beom’s estimated transfer fee is 8 million euros (approximately 12 billion won) for a four-year contract, and he will wear the number 4 jersey until 2028.
